Went to the gravel yard the other day and got a weight on this thing. Not as heavy as I was afraid that it might be, but still 4220 lbs. That is as it sits in this pic with no top or doors.

I got the Rockhard roll cage kit painted and installed. I’m happy with the results.

It’s been a few weeks now that I have gotten the old pig drivable after almost 4 years since buying it. Still working out some kinks.

Finished the rebuild on my 89 258. Rings, bearings, valve lap, and new Comp Cams rock crawler cam. Got the ol pig fired up and run for the 30 minute 2000 to 2500 rpm cam break in. Oil changed, no H2O in oil. Looks to be ok.

Finally got the new transfer case. Installed, at least temporarily, needs a little shimming.

The crank on my 258 had a pilot bearing that had the needle bearings in it. The PO had told me that he couldn’t keep pilot bearings in this thing so went to this one and it didn’t last either. I have a brand new AX15 so this was coming out. I’m in the process of rebuilding the engine anyway...

I recently bought an 89 with suspension lift and 3" body lift. I plan to do away with the body lift, but not sure how much lift is in the suspension. Does anyone know how many inches of arch is in the factory springs from the center of spring top to the spring eyes?
