My name is Chris Jumonville and I am the admin and founder of Jeep Wrangler YJ Forum. I founded this forum out of my love and passion for the Jeep Wrangler YJ and my love for forums.

I am a born again Christian and a man of God who always tries to put our Lord and Savior above all else. I believe it is my purpose to be a worthy witness to Christ and to share with others His gospel. Next to God, family is of the utmost importance to me. I reside in Gillette, Wyoming with my wife, two daughters, and our son. The Lord has truly blessed me.

When I'm not working, my biggest hobbies include playing the bass (I play in the worship band at our church), guitar, cowboy guns, working out, hiking, smoking meat, hunting, the outdoors, and spending time with my family. I consider myself to be an audiophile and I have a particular love for music from the 60s and 70s. I love everything from smooth jazz, classical, rock, and blues. Music is a very big passion of mine.

For nearly two decades now I have been running my own web design company called Digital Sky Design. I decided to use my website skills to bring about a passion of mine that has been in me since the early days of the internet—forums! You see, I grew up before large social media networks were a thing. I’ll never forget being in middle school in the mid-90s and having my first PC running Windows 95 and Netscape Navigator. I remember discovering automotive forums and really enjoying the message board format of communicating with others and sharing experiences.

The reason I started Jeep Wrangler YJ Forum is because I started to notice a particular trend among forums. All of the forums I once loved were starting to be bought up by two big companies—Vertical Scope and Internet Brands). They’d offer to buy these forums out from the folks—like me—who built them. They would then proceed to monetize the heck out of them and in the process the forums would seemingly lose their personality.

As I write this, I know there are others who are reading this and know exactly what I am talking about. If you grew up with forums you know what they used to be like versus what they are like now. That’s not to say you cannot find a good forum anymore, but they are few and far between. This is—in my opinion—what happens when a large company (who has no personal interest in the particular forum subject) takes control of a once personally owned forum. Just go take a look at Jeep Forum and Wrangler Forum. Both of those forums are a case-in-point example of forums that used to be fun to visit (when they were privately owned) but have been ruined by the careless companies that now own them. Another goal I had when I creating this forum, was to have a forum that is clean, non-cluttered, easy to navigate, and easy to use on mobile devices. I wanted to create an experience with Jeep Wrangler YJ Forum that would stir a sort of nostalgia in others who grew up in the early days of the internet and have fond memories of once well-run forums.

You’ll find that everyone here—while sometimes a bit sarcastic and quick to rib one another—is very friendly and willing to help. There are no moderators on power trips and for the most part, we all just get along. This general atmosphere around this forum reminds me why I always tell newer Jeep owners, “You’ll find that Jeep owners are some of the nicest, friendliest, and most willing to help people you’ll ever meet.”. There’s a truth to that that I think you’ll find if you hang around here enough.
