My name is Chris Jumonville, and I am the admin and founder of Jeep Wrangler YJ Forum. I founded this forum out of my love and passion for the Jeep Wrangler YJ. I've owned more cool cars in my life than I can count, but to this day, my Jeep Wrangler YJ remains the most fun and enjoyable vehicle I've ever owned.
I live in Florence, Arizona with my wife, two daughters, and our son! I'm definitely what you would refer to as a family man. I own my own business called Digital Sky Design as a professional web designer. When I'm not working, my biggest hobbies—aside from my Jeep—include playing the banjo, guitar, working out, and spending time with my family. I'm also a huge fan of blues music, jazz, and bluegrass.
The majority of forums out there were once privately owned forums like this one. Two big companies (Vertical Scope and Internet Brands) came along and bought all those forums from the individuals who owned and ran them. It didn't take long before those forums went to complete hell. These companies monetized them in such a way that made them almost unbarable. In addition, the moderation on these forums is often non-existent, and sometimes hostile.
One thing that really bothers me with so many other forums is the general feeling of hostility you encounter as a new member. Go to almost any other forum and post a frequently asked question, and you'll typically be met with replies such as "Learn how to use the search feature!", and other rude remarks. I blame this on a lack of good, activemoderators. In addition, I've noticed that the moderators and staff at those forums don't seem to care about this overall hostile behavior from other members. I can't even begin to tell you how many other forums I used to visit have been overrun with drama and juvenile behavior. Spend a few days around this forum and you'll find that it is not like that in any way, nor will it ever be. We don't tolerate that type of behavior here and never will, plain and simple. The most you might need to enjoy this place is a good sense of sarcasm and dry humor.
Another goal I had when I creating this forum, was to have a forum that is clean, non-cluttered, easy to navigate, and easy to use on mobile devices (if you haven't tried this forum out on your smartphone or tablet you're missing out). Forum members will never at any point see this forum overrun with annoying ads like all the other forums out there, that's a promise! The majority of the money I do make from this site helps to offset the costs of running maintaining such a large website (i.e. software licenses, server costs, etc.).
If you ever have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me personally! I'm a very approachable guy, and I always love to talk!
