What did you do in the garage / driveway today?

Something simple for me. Had an oil leak. Determined it was the valve cover gasket. So I planned on replacing it. Watched a video on the process since it’s been a few decades since I’ve done this on a jeep. First thing on the video..the guy says the bolts are all loose. Ok.. I go out to...

Trying to figure out how to remove the cigarette lighter assembly

It’s a 1993. The good news is that I was able to work on it all without have to crawl under anything. Just a little bit of contortion and being 6’7”, it was a challenge. So far it’s worked well. I’ll probably install one on the passenger side too

    Brake upgrade

Thanks for this! I think you hit on what I’ve been thinking all along. Going to upgrade the calipers, pads and rotors and discuss the knuckle with my mechanic. I’ve read about the double diaphragm booster but had my doubts. I’m thinking the cost is worth it for the upgrades.. vs not being...

Next upgrade for the 93 YJ is the brakes. It stops.. but not well. I’m looking at a double diaphragm MC as well as new calipers. What have other done?

Trying to figure out how to remove the cigarette lighter assembly

Well, I have the cig lighter housing removed. Once I got around to it, it was easy. 3 screws. Allowed me to pull off the wires and test them for voltage…. Zip. So I’ll trace and figure out the issue Along with checking out the fuses.

First Jeep: 1994 YJ (looking for ideas)

Good recommendations. You’ve done some of the basics. Let it talk to you for other upgrades. What bumper did you install? Oh, and I would indeed to a complete bumper to bumper fluid change. Get a good baseline.

Trying to figure out how to remove the cigarette lighter assembly

Not trying to delete the circuit. I’m actually trying to get the cig lighter to work so I can use it as a charger for my phone. Actually I think I’ll remove the ash tray and use that space for a charging stattion. Separate to that, accessing the fuse box under the dash is a royal pain.. but...
