I found this to get started with. Probably not perfectly exact since it says for 2.5L. I haven’t found the same diagram for 4.2L yet. This is out of the 1990 FSM but should be the same. Looking closer is calls out which relays are for 4.2L so that should be the answer.

Are you sure the PCMs you have tried are for 2.5? Transmission generally doesn’t matter, but the engine is important. As long as engine is correct, they should work fine unless they’re defective.

A cam can improve things but that alone isn’t going to bring a 112/235 HP/TQ engine or a 180/225 HP/TQ engine up to 300/300. Even strokers barely get up that high.

There is no cam in the world that will make that 2.5L happy running 35” tires with 4.11 gears. Even the 4.0 doesn’t do very well with that setup and it has 50% more horsepower and torque. Regear it to 5.13 and consider stepping down the tires to 32” or so if you want it to perform decently.

Thanks. The 245s may work but that’s basically a 31” tall tire. Will be a little tight unless you add a body lift or small suspension lift. It’s tough with them being 8” wide; not a lot of tire sizes for 16” that are wide enough for a wheel that side and also not too tall for a YJ.

I’m not who you commented towards but I ended up putting stock height springs from Dayton and they worked great. They are right at stock height. The ones that match OEM part numbers are the ones to stick to, not HD or anything else.

The heater should get hot regardless of thermostat status. And when cooling properly, Lower radiator hose should be warm but not really hot because the radiator should have removed much of the heat.
