'92 Jeep YJ (Jurassic Build)

Not new, I guess it was just someone took better care of their jeep. I bought it as a package deal with seats, carpet, basically an entire interior with the seats that I was looking for~ I'll post those later today! ;)

While scouring the United States Craiglslist in evey city looking for the Sahara seats, a fella on the Jurassic forum said he had everything that I need~ he's a jurassic nut. So, I bought just about everything from him: All correct seats, factory used carpet, radio, fog lights(front and rear), center console, etc.

This was his picture and I knew there was going to be a lot of cleanup and repairs.

The carpet, I spray it with spray n wash, then pressure washed it and allowed it to dry~ it came out good, or better than expected.

The seats were filthy, but I'm not complaining, but I repaired this first and the seat foam beneath it. I then removed all seat upholstery and washed each in a large sink of warm soapy water followed by a cold rinse and allowed to air dry.

Wasn't long I had all pieces in place and looked really nice!!

The original seat back bags were in very poor shape, so I made some new ones and they came out really nice;)

I did have my wheels sandblasted and I'll get to them next week, so painting the red parts should be next week, or soon I should say!
getting there;) However I have enjoyed the journey!

The dash was pretty depressing, old looking, lens's all scratched up, radio didn't work.

When getting to the refurbishing the dash, washed it thoroughly, the sprayed a couple coats of SEM Graphite paint which matched the original color perfectly. Installed new instrument len's, a Newer radio which works, new speakers

THese speakers fit almost perfectly, just needed to trim a couple holes

I have the engine running now, runs great, but haven't driven it down the street yet, just backed up and down our driveway.
Got to go, I'll be back;)
Wow that looks awesome, mine is pretty bad as well. Texas heat and sun just murders the dash. I was considering buying a new dash pad from Key parts but I like the way yours turned out with the SEM paint.

Where did you find new lenses for the gauges?

One can is plenty, goes a long way. I just washed my dash really good, I didn't use any other component. I've also sprayed my dash in my 2000 dodge ram with it's color, it sits outside all the time and still looks great after a year or so;)

SEM for the win. I have seen many interiors redone with the SEM and it never disappoints.

Well SirDroop~ I have the correct wheels that I bought a while back, I just took them to my local sandblasting place and had them blasted at 25 bucks per wheel. I had a new nicks, but was able to use a file to file them down, now deep gouges might require more thinking, perhaps some JBweld could fill gouges or even body filler I'd think. After blasting, I still sanded each wheel with some 320grit sandpaper to smooth the surfaces. A lot of the jurassic people just scuff their wheels and spray some Krylon paint, but I have a tendency to go the next step and do it best I can. I thought about powder coating, but the red may not match the red which will be used for the stripes, I do want everything to match. Tomorrow I'll go buy my red paint, and maybe by the end of the week it will start looking like the finished product;)
