Two more weeks until I can get plates on my new 1989 yj. Here in NY DMV is now by appointment only so.... while I’m waiting I thought I’d address the rust. It doesn’t seem to bad but I’ve never done it. Any advice on the best approach to take?
Couldnt agree moreCut and weld, use an absolute minimum of body filler.
What did you end up doing? That answers that. I wish I knew how to weld. Time to make some phone calls

What did you end up Nothing yet. Haven’t been around much. Maybe a winter project when she’s off the road.
I personally would check to see how solid it is overall. If it will hold up to a few hammer strikes and not come apart I would just grind and fix the pin holes, then hit the rusty areas with rust converter then brush on some POR15. If you are unable to weld up the pin holes my old pre welding days fix was fiberglass cloth and resin.Hey guys I’m a noobie and have never done any rust repairs. I have a 95 Sahara 4.0 with rust and pinhole on floor pan. I have a picture and needed some advice on how to fix.
