I went to the local dealer to source a Mopar air filter for my 1994 YJ (4.0L). I was told the part # was 53006317, but that it was discontinued. So I ordered an allegedly OEM Mopar air filter with that part # off of EBay. It wasn't, and it was noticeably loose in the air box. I sent it back. It might have been a Crown from the looks of it, but IDK for sure. Any suggestions for an good alternative to the Mopar OEM air filter? I like a paper filter element and value particle filtration over any alleged gains in air flow. Thanks for any help!

we got 9 vehicle in my family, we use WIX if we can get them, other wise we go with ACdelco. we are pleased with both.

Read all the reviews. Too much dirt and dust goes through the K&N filter and the pressure drop isn't much different than a good pleated paper filter. Mo pleats is mo better.

What GilaGuy23 and Flyer58 said. Dirt and dust through the air filter translates to faster wear on the engine's top end. I ended up deciding to go with AC Delco, as it looks like a pretty close match to the NLA Mopar filter, in terms of fitment and the (paper) filtration element.
