Check Gas Cap message after Evap system repaired?

I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee Limited with a 5.7 liter Hemi. It had a leak in the charcoal canister that was causing my check engine light to come on, and a message telling me to check my gas cap. I had the evap system fixed, and the check engine light is off. It still has the message "Check...

    Washer Fluid Problem (unique)

Ditto that, mine was working when I bought it, after a month or so the washer pump quit working and the wipers don't cycle. My wiper delay also only works when it's very cold outside ( single digits.) I'm thinking this may be a dirty contact(s) in the wiper control unit? Does anyone have any...

    Removing stuck screws

Got them out! Since the easy out I was using wasn't biting, I went to the next size up, which happened to be the exact size of the screw minus the threads. That did it for both. Got my new mirrors mounted and the doors off. Now to find someplace to store the hard top and that's coming off too.

    Removing stuck screws

Thank you guys for your advice. I'll give both ideas a shot. Then fall back on the old axium I was taught when I worked in electronics... "There are very few problems in this life that cannot be solved with a suitable application of high explosives". I'll just have to pull it out of the garage...

    Removing stuck screws

Well, I've got an easy out kit. Drilled into the screw and the dang ready out will not bite into it. Flyer 58, looks like I need to find a nice set like yours. I'm the mean time, anyone have any hints on getting this thing to bite?

    Removing stuck screws

Got one of them, it's not working either. They are rusted in good.

    Removing stuck screws

I've tapped and hammered on them to no avail. They are stuck as stuck can be. And yes, they are torx heads, and after yesterday's attempts at removing them, I no longer have a torx bit the right size. Another trip to the auto parts store for new tools... I'll see if they have left-hand drill...

    Removing stuck screws

I'll be trying to remove them again this afternoon, but the screw head is pretty much stripped. Will I need to pick up an easy-out set to do this?

    Removing stuck screws

In the hopes of removing the doors from my jeep this summer, I purchased some different mirrors that fasten to the windshield frame. Unfortunately the screws in that frame are stuck tight. I saw a discussion about this in a Facebook group where it was suggested that the user simply drill out...

I thought it was just me

I've done this a couple times now and I thought it was just me until I saw a conversation about it in a yj facebook group, so I thought I'd ask here. How many of you have sacrificed a belt loop or two, to the door striker on your yj? Be honest now.

WJ Power steering return hose question

It is definitely power steering. After it disconnected, and the power steering ran completely out of fluid, I added more and it squirted out of that hose, so it is the power steering. It could be a cooler, but I honestly don't know. There are two lines connected there, the one that fell apart...

WJ Power steering return hose question

I have a 2006 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 liter Hemi engine. This is my daily deriver when I'm not in my YJ. This morning one of the power steering return lines popped off. I say "one of" because it looks like the return line is made up of two lines, but I'm not a mechanic by trade or...

    What top?

Not sure if anyone can help with this one. I have a hard top on my 94 YJ. I am pretty sure it's not original as the plug on the wiring harness on the jeep is a different shape/size than the receptacle on the top, and I have a switch for both rear defogger and rear wiper on the dash but the top...

    Front wheel noise

When I have my front axle locked (manual PTO cable lock,) and the transfer case in 2 Hi, there is a high pitched noise coming from the right wheel. I first though it's probably a bearing, but if I unlock the axle the noise goes away, or if I shift the transfer case into 4, it goes away. It's...

What tool can’t you live without for your yj?

That's what I use for a dome light, stuck on the top of my window frame. And it's handy for any time I need a little extra light when causing trouble under the hood.

    Exhaust leak?

Thanks for the advice. It's nice to know I'm not the only one to have seen this. I'll try re-tightening the bolts when the engine is hot. Does anyone know what they should be torqued to? Or should they just be tightened till they are tight?

    Exhaust leak?

That is a good idea. If I have time tomorrow afternoon, I'll make some recordings, before and after it stops. I was totally shocked when I discovered it had a practically new header on it. Looking at the body you would think this thing was never taken care of, but whoever had it last took...

    Exhaust leak?

I'm pretty sure it's not the fan and it's not the engine revving. It sounds like an exhaust leak, but no exhaust smell. It's a weird one for sure.

    Exhaust leak?

When I purchased this 94, I didn't test drive it much, but it sounded like it had a pretty good exhaust leak up by the engine. I figured the pipe was probably rotted out and would need to be changed up there, even though the tail pipe is almost brand new. After getting it home (the dealership...
