    Hourly Service Interval Timing

Always wanted to do the same thing on all my vehicles and never did. Always wondered the same thing. (what do these numbers mean to me and how do I use them?) I went to synthetic oil about the same time I got a second vehicle. For years my routine was forget the miles, I just changed the oil...

Runs great sometimes and terrible others. Help!

My rule #1 on any modern* car, when there's running issues, the first thing I check are the grounds. Next time it's running bad, leave it running and hook up a jumper cable, both camps on one end to the negative terminal. The other side to the engine and frame. *(meaning anything fuel...

Too much of the wrong things, like him. After giving half the ex wife of course. lol She's spending it faster now than when she was married.

Random Amazon junk you didnt order??

Now that I think of it, quite often I will see an item with a couple good reviews (5 stars!), but when you go to read them there aren't any actual reviews which has always puzzled me. Perhaps that's the source of these mysterious reviews. Just proving once again Amazon is scum.

Random Amazon junk you didnt order??

But what does one have to do with the other? They can fake sales and reviews without sending stuff to random people? That's what I don't get.

Random Amazon junk you didnt order??

There's plenty of info about it online, how it's fake sales and fake good reviews, but honestly that doesn't make any sense to me. If they can fake a review, why not fake sending the item??? I dunno. Last year I received some cheap scope mount riser for an AR15 that I never ordered and no...

    Removing the catalytic converter?

Even that is been brought into question now by the EPA, starting to little by little say "if it ever had it, it must have it" no matter how or where you use it.

    Removing the catalytic converter?

Federal law aside... pipe for my old one let go so I used my YJ for about a week this spring without it. (temp pipe all the way to the rear. The exhaust fumes were so bad didn't want to drive it. I didn't even try to fix the old one cat, i bought a new one ASAP and installed it. So happy I...

    New 95 YJ Jeep Owner

Oh I have to take that back! I drove mine on the highway for the first time today since changing my front and back springs. I was pushing 63 at a couple spots and it was only slightly terrifying. ;)

    New 95 YJ Jeep Owner

Yep, you're problem is normal. GPS says my speedo is 5 mph or so slow at 50-55. Not an issue for me, I'm not stupid enough to try to make mine go any faster, even that is sketchy. lol

    Ignition Key

There are simple to use decoder tools for doing that, the problem is they're very make-model-series specific. So finding someone who has the right one might be tough. Some auto locks are easy to take apart and decode manually, others much less so.

    Simpler days?

Yes, when pickup trucks were about the cheapest thing you could purchase. They were made for work and no one else bought them. Now they're ridiculous monstrosities. Working stiffs who actually need them can't actually buy them. As for different coolant, ATF was a whole heck of a lot simpler...

    New to me 1988 YJ

You described my 88 this time last year, all except for the "solid" part. :D I have a slight body lift only and 31's. I replaced my rear leaf springs two days ago with stock height springs made by Crown. Pretty much everyone sells them. (Quadratec, Amazon, Rock Auto, I got mine from Summit...

    Big boy seat brackets

Harbor Freight wheel chock and two hockey pucks are my seat/floor reinforcement. I kept the chock behind the seat because my parking brake didn't work. One day I thought "Hmmm... if only it was higher." I remembered I had some extra hockey pucks from another project, saw the spacing worked...

There is a tool for it, but I've never had the luxury of using one, I always use my fingers, brute force and profanity.

One VIN look up site said mine came with a 6, but has a 4. Looked it up elsewhere and they said 4.

    First Jeep, ‘87 YJ value?

When I bought my '88 I didn't look at the carb too close. Asked the PO about the car and he said "yes". I was a little disappointed to later realize it was TBI. Give me a carb, points and condenser... it may not run as well but I can keep it running forever. The fewer electronics the better.
