1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

I love the canyons, I just wish they were 15x7. Or I wish they offered them in both. With them being 15x8 I feel like 30x9.5 is proper, but I don’t want to run 30x9.5 anymore since I’m stock height. Lots of give and take, so it just felt right to go back to what my YJ originally came with. But...

As far as I know, they strip them down and repaint them silver with clear. The styled steel wheels are originally silver (or really called Argent) from the factory. My understanding is this company restores them back to that the best they can. I just hope they do good work and that the paint...

Wheels finally shipped, so hopefully once the KO3s come out in my size, I can get those mounted quickly. Like I said, I ordered from OriginalWheels.com. Based on my initial impressions, great place to buy from. They called me to let me know that my 5 wheels would ship from 3 locations and might...

The center caps look fantastic. Very little evidence to say they were used. They are definitely used, but the paint job is great and the Jeep stickers in the middle are in good shape. So I recommend these for sure. One snag though is that the fastening method for them are built in plastic...

Thanks, really it’s nothing special, just mostly buying tools and learning the processes. For an axle rebuild it’s pretty much a beam style inch pound torque wrench and a clamshell bearing puller. But understandable for sure, 3.55s weren’t bad. 3.07s suck for sure. I had 3.55, I wasn’t thrilled...

Dana 30 4.10 Rebuild Like I mentioned in the previous post, I picked up a Dana 30 and 35 axle set (factory 2.5L manual 4.10/4.11 ratios) to rebuild and install into my YJ. They were located out North of Longview TX, a few hours away. I picked them up for $600, ordered a bunch of bearings...

Little bit late, but I’m bored and so I’ll update this before I hit the sheets. Out of laziness/busyness I still have not done anything with the brakes. My neighbor is my helper but recently went into the hospital for a minor stroke, so he’s been out of commission. Thankfully he pulled through...

Idler broke off on 95 YJ 4.0

Never seen that happen before. Wonder if the bearing in the pulley locked up and the momentum of the belt continuing to run broke the pulley and the ear off of the bracket? Regardless, it's not too bad of a fix. Get an alternator/compressor bracket off eBay, a new idler pulley and call it good...

    Do I have a lift?

Hard to say but that looks to be around a 4" lift. An easy way to tell if it's lifted or not is to look at the shackles and the leaf springs. You have stock shackles, so nothing to write about there, but your springs are arched significantly. Stock springs are almost flat. As such, you can...

    Fuel injection to carburetor conversion

I hope no one has done that.

Does anyone have a pic of their YJ with these?

It’s very easy to install, it just clips under the stock bumper and bolts down with 4 small bolts. As stated above, it won’t work on a winch setup if you have one.

    Rat rod Jeep

Lol, not really, just wouldn’t want to spend so much money on something from a seller with a not so great rep.

    Blinker issue

My guess is either the cancelling cam broke or the turn signal switch broke. It will be a column teardown regardless. The canceling cam is pretty easy to replace at least.

    Help reading check engine codes

It definitely works, this process of checking codes is straight out of the factory service manual. So I was wrong about the power supply - the PCM provides 8V power to the to the speed sensor on circuit K7. The PCM provides 5V power to the MAP sensor on circuit K6. They both share the sensor...

    Help reading check engine codes

12, 33, 14, 15, 55. 14 and 15 are the only two worth thinking about. 14: MAP sensor circuit open or shorted; voltage too low 15: No speed/distance sensor signal To have both of them throwing codes I wonder if you have an issue with the sensor ground circuit or maybe the PCM’s power supply. I...

Will work fine, all 2.5L auto/manual PCMs are interchangeable.

    95 YJ quit

OP did but that is probably a misread. The second post was giving advice based on that and that advice is incorrect because that code doesn’t exist.

    95 YJ quit

I don't mean to be a dick, but the AI responses really are not that helpful. It's pretty clear the majority of posts here lately have been generated by AI and they are more misleading than they are helpful. Code 75 does not exist on a YJ and code 35 is not for the IAC, it's an XJ only code for...

    95 YJ quit

Post your code video. 75 and 73 are not in the list of codes. 32 is a common code, 35 is not. Sure you counted that one right? If you truly have a 35, that means you have an XJ PCM because a YJ doesn't have an electric cooling fan, and that's what code 35 is for. You've got something weird...
