I have googled and I keep finding mixed results between ax-5 and ax-15. I feel like I have the ax-5 but just to be sure how can I determine what transmission I have? Also I'm not the original owner so there could have been a swap at some point... 1991 Jeep Wrangler 4cyl 5 speed

If you have the 4 cyl, according to Novak transmission, the ax5 is the only one of the two that will fit because of the bell housings.

2.5L has the AX5, although there are aftermarket kits to swap to the AX15, but they require pretty obvious identifier pieces such as bellhousing adapters and shifter adapters. You have a very strong chance of having the stock AX5.

I have the 4 cylinder and AX5 and didn't know what to look for. I was told the oil fill port on the ax5 in on the right side and ax15 is on the left.
