Hello everyone I just installed a Howell TBI conversion kit on my 1990 YJ but fuel pump won’t work. Any ideas?

Verify you have power to the pump when the key is in run. It may be a dead pump, if it is call Howell.

What controls the pump with this conversion? The PCM or a new PCM? Newer injected YJ's have a safety feature that turns on the pump for 1 to 3 seconds to prime the injectors, then stops. Can you jump a fuel pump relay to get it to work?

There’s no power to the pump but when I connected the pump directly to the battery it works.
Yes the pump works when connected directly to the battery. It supposed get a signal from the Tach to the ECM (the main computer) so the to work but no signal.

Probably poking in the dark here but does or did the tach work? Jeeps can us a fuse to power something you'd never guess, so check every fuse, under the hood too. This might also be a perfect opportunity to hide a pump power supply switch hidden somewhere for anti theft purposes. If the engine is running, so is the pump.
Hello everyone, I finally got the jeep running. So I goolged issues with the fuel pump relay and one of the issues the a bad connection. I used a jumper wire the test it. somehow I blew a fuse and replaced it. The battery was draining so I got a battery charger. With everything on I tried cranking it. Then it started. It was music to my ears! Thank you everyone for listening in and giving suggestions. Now I have to finish putting everything back together. I'll keep you all posted.
