I am finally about to get my Jeep back after some suspension work (OME 2.5” springs) and a bestop super top classic soft top install.

The soft tops do not seem easy to just casually bring down and back up. Anyone have any tips? Instructions with pics? Videos?

Any tips for someone with literally no experience or handy work potential would be sincerely appreciated!

This is the best post I found. I’m hoping for some type of hack. Do the frames need to be unpinned and folded onto the soft top? Can I leave frames attached and just tie down the soft top?

I’ve seen Chuck’s video. I like chuck, real nice guy and all but I always felt by the time he did all he did, he saved no real time or effort vs just yanking the thing off and folding it behind the back seat.

Technically you don’t need to fold down the frame but it looks weird to leave it up and the spreader bar might not sit as well on the tub if the rest of the frame isn’t folded down. If you wanted to tie the top down then you probably could find a way to do so but again, by that point aren’t you starting to put more time and effort into securing the top than you are saving by just removing it and throwing down the bars real quick?

I got the Bestop last fall and it is just more time-consuming than the TJ design. Kind of disappointing. I go back and forth between leaving the top off for weeks at a time, and putting it on.

My current compromise is top on, windows and doors off.

That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Thanks!
