I have 87 yj that originally came with a 2.5 4cylinder. I've lifted it, put on 35s and added a ls1. I'm wanting to make it stop better. Can I use a brake master cylinder off a 95 yj? Is the 95 a bigger bore and will it help my problem? Thanks Pete

I don't think a master cylinder alone is going to do the job for you with 35's.
You will probably need to upgrade the brakes themselves.
Not an expert on this subject, but I've seen several posts for mods and know who you can reach out to.
Rear disc conversion using later model factory parts @maddvector.
Front "Big brake" @machoheadgames.

The 87-89 YJ comes with a 15/16” bore Master cylinder because the calipers are a different design and the booster is slightly smaller. A smaller bore master cylinder actually BOOSTS brake performance, just at the caveat of longer pedal travel.

with 35’s, there is no getting around the factory brake deficiencies. The true solution is a big brake kit and vanco/black magic brakes are pretty much the only companies selling anything worth a damn. You can swap masters or boosters but there is no real way to improve the shitty wheel brakes without getting rid of them fully.
