Hello everyone. This is my first post here, and I’m itching to get back to my YJ. I had it parked for about ten years (life got in the way), and I finally got it running again.
The tires are bad (cracked), and the wheels are rusted. It’s been so long that I feel like I’ve forgotten a lot… now I’m trying to order new tires and wheels.
I’m thinking about Yokohama Geolandar 35x12.5x15 (good price and reviews), and I’m trying to decide whether to go with 15x8, 15x10 or 15x9 (if I can find them) wheels, with 4 inches of backspacing.
I know 15x8 is best if I air down to 8–10 PSI, which I normally do, but we’ve moved from California back to Maryland, so there aren’t many places to go off-roading around here. Also, my YJ won’t be a daily driver.
A little bit about my current set up, 1993 YJ 4.0 SOA with 8.8 and Detroit locker in the rear, HPD30 (no vacuum disconnect) with Aussie locker in the front.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
