Hey guys, quick question. I’m looking to buy this 95’ YJ from a guy pretty close to me. Overall the condition looks pretty good for the price, a bit of surface rust but mainly stuff that can be dealt with. My main question is about the part circled - I’m not quite sure what it is and, from its looks, it seems pretty far beyond repair. Would that be a part something like a shop would have in stock and be able to fix or would I have to order it first? Thanks!

Drag link adjusting tube. Pretty cheap to buy another one and you wouldn’t even need an alignment after, you’d just adjust it until the steering wheel is straight when the wheels are straight.
You’ll want new drag link ends for connecting to the pitman arm and tie rod. The ones you have will probably be difficult to remove seeing as how rusty the adjuster tube is.

In my case the Pitman end rotated freely but the tie rod end joint was frozen tight. The bonehead previous owner just misaligned the front wheels (with new tires) so it would steer with a centered steering wheel. The whole thing was a mess but I considered it a challenge and ended up removing it all and installing new ends on the tie rod and crag link.
I'd take that off clean it up with a wire wheel and shoot some black paint on it. It's just a hollow tube that's threaded on both ends.
