Recommendations on repairing this wiring plug

89YJ: Pin 4-5-6 on gauge package conn are showing signs of over heating how gauges aren't working?
Any options on repair?

Bad grounds and dirty contacts can or will cause. My 91 had similar looking areas. I ran a separate/extra ground for the cluster and what do ya know, the gauges even read a bit different. A good pencil eraser can be good for cleaning up those copper tabs. Wont hurt to pull the bulb retainers out and un dust the bulbs and clean those also. Those twist in retainers are pretty commonly available at a auto parts store if you break one.
 
Yes corrosion will cause them to get hot. I've used a small cotton Q-tip with vinegar to clean them and dissolve the corrosion.

While you have the cleaning supplies going, it's a good time to pull each fuse, one at a time, in the fuse box and clean each tab.
