Question about replacing rear main seal

I'm in the middle of replacing the rear main seal and have a question. I replaced both halves, making sure they were seated well. After torqueing down the bearing cap to 80ft-lbs, I noticed the edges of the seal kind of look pinched up a bit? Is this correct or did I mess up along the way?

It’s been a while but pretty sure mine did the same. Probably has to do with how the bearing cap bolts snug the cap down and butt the seal halves together really tightly.
