Howdy - swapped a TJ NP231 for a 4.0 to a YJ with a 4.0. Input shaft lines up - BUT tried several rear driveshafts to the output shaft and they are all too long - the last is the 12.75 inch driveshaft. Do i need to get the 12 inch shaft thats made for teh TJ as well? Thanks !

Yeah you'll need a TJ driveshaft for that. The TJ transfer case with all of it's extra sealing on the output makes the transfer case overall longer and requires the driveshaft to be shorter to match.
Make sure your front driveshaft is good too. Learned the hard way the YJ front shaft doesn't bolt right into the front xfer case yoke...unless I lost some parts...the straps I had labeled from the YJ case didn't work with the TJ case. U-bolt straps are ordered!
