Is the problem related to fuel flow?

I finally set the timing correctly on my 89 Wrangler 4.2L engine. It is an ATK rebuilt, with Clifford Performance intake/Weber carb/ and split headers. I milled the heads 0.60 , and added a Howard cam. I am also running MSD ignition. Now that it is timed, and runs great, the only issue I have if the fact that it starts hard when the engine is warm. When cool, you can reach through the side window and turn the key, and it starts right up.

I am pretty sure the problem is fuel flow. I have an electric fuel pump, and an adjustable pressure regulator. I would appreciate any input regarding the fuel pressure I should be running. I am also getting fuel smell in the cockpit when I first start driving. Thank you! DD
