Hi everyone,
I just bought some hard uppers with the sliding window on marketplace for my Jeep. In the pictures, the uppers seemed to fit fine, but when I install it on my Jeep, it doesn't fit at all. I can't get all 3 bolts to fit in the slots, and a part of it hangs off of the door. Does anyone have any idea of how to install these? I thought it would have been fairly simple.

I've heard there's a difference between YJ and TJ doors yet both can be made to fit the YJ. I don't now what these differences are.
I bought full doors for my YJ and needed to slightly tweak the spreader bars and windshield angle to get them to seal all around. a Very small adjustment (1/4") goes a long way.

I have seen some other forums where people talk about doing that. How do I adjust the windshield angle? Some people say there are some bolts on the roll cage and that I need to remove some bolts for the hinge on the windshield. What steps did you take?

Do you have a hard top or soft? I have the hard top so I found it much easier to remove the adjustable spreader bar section of the roll bar that runs along the top of the windows. Reason being, there's a tamper resistant torx bolt there #TR50 that was difficult to get access to.

First remove, the three Torx bolts Size 40 on the inside plates near the lower corners of the windshield, there's a plate on each side. The plates have elongated slots for adjustment.

remove the three Torx size 40 from the front end of the spreader bar where it attaches to the windshield frame upper corners. Sun visor too if you still have it.

You should be able to tilt the windshield at this point, but again it depends if the what top you have on it. A soft top may need adjusting too. I had to slide my hard top forward 1/8 inch.

I removed the spreader bar. at the back end where it attaches to the roll bar there one Torx size 50.
The length of the spreader bar can be adjusted by loosening the special Tamper Resistant Torx bolt TR50.

You can easily find the TR50 at most hardware stores or Amazon for $6.

Hopefully all this works. When get with the windshield loose, fit the side windows in place and then hopefully the windshield will tilt back into place.

It's like trying to juggle 5 plates on a sticks and takes a while to get them all right.

Let us know how it works out.
