Front Track Bar

So this is why my YJ turns like an Aircraft Carrier?
No no, the YJ doesn't suffer poor turning radius, my comments about poor steering design are more related to the loose steering feel felt in the wheel. As in move the wheel but the front wheels don't turn until you turn the steering wheel more. The way the tie rod and drag link are designed there is some allowable slop and it is felt directly in the wheel. CJs don't have that problem which is why I like CJ Steering better.

What are the stats of your Jeep? Lift height, tire size, etc? A YJ can turn on a damn dime. If yours can't, there are likely some things you can do to fix it. Your steering stops may be adjusted too far out, maybe drag link not adjusted properly, etc.

"New" Rebuilt Cardone steer box.....2.5 suspension lift, 1" body, 31X10X15 tires Pitman dropped accordingly.
I see the steer stops, Bolts with lock nuts......Should I turn them In?

Hmm sounds like a setup that can definitely turn decently.

Can your steering stops actually be turned in more? They are a bolt with a nut welded to the threads. They just thread into the knuckle until they bottom out. I'd be surprised if a PO unthreaded them for no reason but if you can tighten, certainly do it.

Do you have poor turning radius in both directions?

I dunno, when it runs, my Jeep is pretty nimble.
And what's wrong with Aircraft Carriers?
I've owned 30+ hoopty's, and some of them were Aircraft Carriers, but I loved them.
Guess I just have soft spot for big old Boats.
Once had a '77 New Yorker and I wanted to paint a red "water line" on it!
There's nothing like a 24' long car with an 8' long hood! ;)

Add the Nissan Frontier to the aircraft carrier list. It is supposed to pop a circle in 43 feet but it's more like 47 feet and that's the short wheelbase version. The LWB crew cab long bed is more like 53 feet which is just ridiculous, it's like 3/4 ton pickup bad.

Very annoying although I still do love the truck and it's no reason not to own it. Just one of the quirks you eventually learn to ignore. 17 years of that model from Nissan and they finally come out with the 2022 redesign and guess what....same shit turning :ROFLMAO:

The more things change, the more they stay the same, as the saying goes.
