I have a 92 YJ in pretty good condition. Have put in a lot of work over the years. The frame is not bad, though I can identify some problem areas…IE rust. It’s OK for now but if possible I’d like to strengthen and reinforce these parts of the frame before it gets bad.
Any suggestions on how to do this?

Patch kits are available for most of the typical locations on the frame that get rust. They all require welding and probably cutting out the old rust but seem to work very well.

I bought some channels to weld in along the center frame section because the nutcerts that hold up the transmission skid pan were rusted out.

The frame is tempered steel for strength and the patches typically are not tempered but like I've said to others is I had tempered rust so anything is better.

Search online for Jeep frame patches.
