Hey guys! I’m new to the YJ platform, i’ve been restoring my 1992 YJ that was my Dad’s in high school. It has the AX-15 5 Speed and the 4.0 Inline 6. It was once it immaculate condition but since has been sitting for a number of years. I’ve put quite a bit of cash into it, and after fixing a few things i’ve found that I no longer have a CEL, and my jeep will not start, It cranks but doesn't start. I replaced the ECU from a 94’ That had the same trans and engine combo. and same issue. I swapped the AC relay into the ASD relay position and still nothing. I’m not sure where to turn from here and if I think that the 94 ECU I bought was maybe faulty? Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

did you have a CEL before you started fixing things ? will it start using starting fluid? do you have fire ? the fact it sit for yrs, the fuel system will have to be cleaned. i think you need to tell us more about what all you done? some one on this forum will have the answer to this problem. keep us posted.

I did have the CEL before start up every time. I have a new fuel pump and fairly new injectors and spark plugs. In 2020 it had a complete tune up with all that stuff. Fuel pump is new within the last month. I haven’t tried started fluid yet, but I don’t even think the fuel pump is priming. I’m 99% sure it’s electrical. Just not sure where to look now that I already tried a different ECU.

try the starting fluid? has fuel filter been changed?do you hear the fuel primer at all?

Harbor Freight has an Inline Spark Testing Light for $4.99 , you can test each individual spark plug and your coil by moving if to each wire. When I'm working on a no start I always start with this test and if everything is good in the fire department I move on to fuel.
