Hello! I've just gotten around to replacing the ignition switch. I've got the old one out and the new one is going in....kind of. I'm having trouble figuring out how the actuator rod connects to the ignition switch. Any help/pictures would be appreciated! Thanks!

The key switch or the electric switch down on the steering column? The switch on the steering column has two different versions depending if it's for a tilt wheel or fixed column. They're mirror images of each other.

The switch on the steering column. Just realized I bought the switch for a tilt steering wheel. Sending that back and should have the correct one by this week. Still scratching my head on how the rod and switch connect-any help would be appreciated!

I did the same thing because the website didn't say anything about it being for the tilt. Once you get it You'll see. The 90 degree bend in the rod get pushed into this hole underneath the switch.

You'll see the elongated holes in the switch are for adjusting the switch to match the key position. Same for the high beam switch.

Thank you so much! That makes sense! I appreciate the reply. When it comes to key position-any tricks on making sure the switch is in the correct position?

Put the key and the switch in the ACC position (full counter-clockwise) when installing it. That should be close enough and any change or adjustment will be minor.

when you say the ACC position, are you referring to when it is locked? And when it is in that position, how should the starter switch look where the rod goes?

Accessory position is #1 in this picture. As I recall it will pull the rod and switch towards the steering wheel. I think the electric switch will be moved as far as it goes down like in your first picture. Once you get it together there's not much room for adjustment so it's hard to get it wrong.
