4WD 12v Vacuum Switch

I have a 1989 YJ that the 4WD indicator light, does not work. I checked the vacuum switch on the fire wall and it is not working. I replaced the vacuum harness, so pretty sure that's not the problem.

I have tried to locate one but nearly impossible, so was wondering if anyone was able to find another 12v vacuum switch to replace it?

Not sure if it's helpful with your particular issue, but there's a good thread in the How-To section of the forum about getting the 4wd light to work properly. If you haven't seen it, check it out.

Have you checked the bulb and socket? My 91's went south from dirty connections on the bulb. Might give a cleaning and new bulb a try.

I have not seen anyone find a different switch that works the same. All I’ve really found is people who rewire the setup to the transfer case once they ditch the vacuum setup. But if you’re keeping the vacuum, then there’s not a lot of options.

You could maybe convert your vacuum system to the 91-95 style that puts the switch on the axle and lights up the light when the fork moves.
