I removed all shifter boot rim screws, leaving both outer and inner boots completely loose so they wouldn't offer any resistance to the shifter. Also lifted the rubber shifter cap on the transmission body. No more popping out of gear. I would have never suspected the pressure from the boots...

Looking for a replacement as mine is leaking. I believe it originally comes as part of the whole vacuum harness assembly, which is now discontinued. Does anyone know of an aftermarket replacement for just the plug? My lines are fine.
