If you can drill the fitting and get an easy out to extract it. And when ever you put a new one in use antiseez. Good luck

Need advice for valve cover gasket replacement

I personally have had good luck using small wire wheels made for use on drills or 1/4 inch impacts. Have also used these for cleaning up head gasket mating surfaces. Was suggested this by a machinist, you absolutely do NOT want to use a 4 inch high speed grinder with a wire wheel. I know that...

1995 YJ 4.0 distributor replacement recommendations

Just replaced mine yesterday with a GM HEI style for the Jeep from JEGS. My Jeep had a fairly new looking HEI one in it when I got it and it ran but started having issues and discovered a problem with it so got a new one. These things ranged from $50 on Amazon to $220 at summit and some even...

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

Assembly lube is just that, used to lubricate parts until the oil makes it there. If you got oil on it for lube that should be fine. My understanding is that the assembly lube at least the white lithium grease type, has been used for years to assemble complete engines that may not be started...

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

Were you able to get any assembly lube on the new seal surface or lube of any kind on it? The amount of time that it can take to get enough oil pumped through the crank shaft to get any oil on this new seal may have been the cause of this.

When it comes time for new windshield glass I plan on going to the local Safelite dealer. I know that is not the answer you are looking for but what my plan is.

1993 4.0 auto stalls when stopped

The only thing that I can think of that is happening is that the torque converter is dragging or locking up at idle.

Should every YJ owner have a hardtop?

For that price I say grab it while you can. It is a deal if it is usable at all. Even if you never use it, it will be easy to unload for a profit.

    Got it weighed

Yeah, my best estimate is the axles add 900 to 1000 lbs by themselves. Antiwrap bar and associated cross member 100 to 150 lbs. wheels and tire 200, winch and mount another 100. Roll cage add on about 75 lb.

    Got it weighed

Went to the gravel yard the other day and got a weight on this thing. Not as heavy as I was afraid that it might be, but still 4220 lbs. That is as it sits in this pic with no top or doors.

    Weber headache

The factory type fuel filter is split on the output with one side returning to tank. I am just using a standard one inlet one outlet filter and not having a problem with my Weber. Your pump is probably putting out more than mine. You might try one of the stock type filters if you don’t already...

Do clone versions of the Weber 32/36 carbs work?

A clone is a clone, which is almost always a cheaper version of the original. That said, if the price is right you can give it a try and see for yourself. If it doesn’t work for you then you know and can always buy the real thing and give that a try. Remember, it’s only money, you can’t take it...

    Weber headache

If I remember correctly, the air fuel mixture screw is metering the fuel only as you adjust. So out is richer and in leaner. If there is no noticeable effect, then fuel must be leaking through somewhere. Have you tried driving it and see how it runs on the road? If you definitely have a mixture...
