    Oil Leak

RMS is an issue on many engines. The top is able to "dry out" if the engine sits for periods of times. If the leak is near the bottom it could be because of other issues.

    Oil Leak

Also, if that shop wasn't able to diagnose that as the issue, I wouldn't go back to them ever again. That is why I do all my own maintenance... Probably was pretty expensive for them to replace the valve cover seal which is a $7 part you can replace yourself in about 10 mins.

    Oil Leak

The RMS on the 2.5 goes bad a lot. If the leak forms at the top of the seal it will only leak when your engine is running. If its near the bottom though it will leak all the time. Mine is near the top I believe so it only leaks for a few mins after shut down. If you're leaking all the time it...

    Oil Leak

Mine has leaked since the day I bought it. I just park it over cardboard. Pretty sure I am dripping from the RMS and my distributor hole (2.5L) I haven't had to add any oil in 6 months of ownership. Its a 30 year old vehicle, a small leak isn't a lot to worry about unless its a pristine show...

    Tube Fender Help

Coolant overflow goes into a little bottle zip tied to the back of the grille piece and who needs washer fluid lol. You could figure out more elegant solutions but realistically the coolant overflow is more of an EPA thing than a necessity and the washer fluid shouldnt be too difficult to rig...

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

Update on this: Treadmill mat did not work, was not stiff enough. I think what I may try to do is get a used set of YJ fenders and cut the inner section out of it. I am having a pretty hard time finding them though.

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

Im thinking maybe like a treadmill mat. You can buy those for under $30 on amazon and theyre gigantic and usually pretty thick. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N808QIH/?tag=yjforum-20

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

If I can get my hands on some rubber to do this I will make sure to measure them as templates and disperse on here for sure. Anyone know the best place to get 1/4" or thicker rubber sheets?

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

What size are those mudflaps? Im looking on Amazon and Ebay now at some. Would 24"x40" work?

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

Holy crap I love it. If you want to be a bro you could pull them off and make a template so your YJ brothers can emulate that. That is one of the best cheap DIYs I have seen yet for a Jeep.

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

so from what you guys are saying apart from the metal panels there really is no good way to get inner fenders other than the crappy stock ones...

How difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels to fit on aftermarket tube fenders?

I have been trying to get a set of inner fender panels from poison spyder for my '89. Every set I have tried to order is on back order with no ETA. I have tube fenders not stock, how difficult is it to get OE inner fender panels (the rubbery ones) to fit on aftermarket fenders? Im not married...

Steering "pops" when turning past center position

Thats just it though theres no noise! I checked all the ball joints and everything. apparently it is likely something called tie rod roll.

Steering "pops" when turning past center position

I checked all the ball joints and unless its only doing it under the weight of the vehicle they are all still nice and tight. I brought it up to a friend who has worked on alot of jeeps and straight axles and he said there is something called tie rod roll? I guess it happens when you have a high...

Steering "pops" when turning past center position

I noticed that my '89 YJ "pops" when passing the middle point of steering when on the ground. There is no audible noise its visual and you can feel it through the steering wheel. I could not get it to do it when up on jackstands it only happens when the tires are on the ground. I can very...

Somethings in my oil (not metal)

I dont unfortunately. I checked it a couple times since I found stuff on the dipstick and haven't found anything since. Next time I do I will take pictures.

Somethings in my oil (not metal)

That was my first thought too but no coolant loss and nothing in the coolant at all. I know what oil in a failing head gasket looks and smells like and this seems altogether normal other than the small particles. I think I'm with you on just changing oil and filter and see what comes out. I will...

Somethings in my oil (not metal)

I checked my dipstick on my 2.5L in my '89 the other day and I have some kind of crusty/gummy particles in my oil. There were not very many of them but they were large enough to see with my eye and small enough to stick on the end of the dipstick. It was NOT metal however. Whatever it was is...
