No, the valves are closed on compression. The valve stem seals are just rubber and prevent oil from leaking down the stems. My 92 needs them replaced, they are original. Can smell oil burning at idle (high vacuum), when the oil is hot and thin.

Nobody ever wants to test/inspect the wiring... You're gonna have to inspect the injector wiring for chaffing.

Measure the resistance of the injectors. See if the problem cyl is different from the others. You can also swap the injector with another one to see if the problem follows. Your injector o rings are probably old and hard, so if you try this I would get some new o rings.

Yes, 2 on the front with the option to put 2 on the back, IIRC. I only have the front ones. The Tuffy comes in 2 widths, I have the narrower one, and there's no spare room between it and the driver's seat because the driver's side seat bracket leans toward the console.
