Anyone install the complete JeepAir kit?

Thanks for the insight; I’ll look into the nostalgic version. I’m beginning the second summer of running the YJ with a bikini top and no doors, but the road noise and heat are getting unpleasant for commuting. Plus I can’t always park in the garage, so it can get rained on by a surprise shower...

Anyone install the complete JeepAir kit?

I'm thinking about making the YJ more of a daily driver, but if I do, I'll have to get A/C and probably a proper top instead of just the bikini. The JeepAir kit looks quite good and the install looks manageable; can anyone comment on their overall satisfaction? it seems that since it is a...

Cleaning the door lock / latch

Thanks for the advice; I looked into it last night. The problem ended up being the latch release rods, not the locking rods. I had never connected the inner lock rod, and the outer lock rod has a lot of play and is not threaded-adjustable anyway. I ended up unclipping the rods from both the...

    Striker pin

Lefty loosey… Seriously , you need a T50 socket and one of these: I’d trace around the existing striker so you can locate the new one in the same place. Use some penetrating oil/spray in advance. Good luck

Cleaning the door lock / latch

Mine were similar; I decided to just replace them rather than painting such irregular surfaces and sourcing odd springs.

Cleaning the door lock / latch

I did mine a month or so ago along with new interior and exterior door handles, and for some reason the lock mechanism now catches when I lock them with the key so I can’t unlock them without prying on the lock from the inside with a flat screwdriver. I can imagine I messed something up on one...

    1995 Sahara project

I might have to try that method in reverse; there’s a bit of Spice overspray onto the black that would be nice to clean up someday.

Does the SEM Camel match the existing Spice parts in the dash as well as the photos appear? Or did you just spray everything?

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

I used a mild polishing compound on the red lens, and it seems fairly bright with both bulbs in place. Not a dramatic mod, but it makes me feel better in traffic, and it’s legal.

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

I removed about 0.4mm of diameter to fit into the female wire connector with the little sanding drum, and used a cutting wheel to make the narrow part near the end. These posts are aluminum so I won’t have rust in the future. I traced and cut a gasket out of some spare gasket material to...

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

But my main problem was that it did not come with terminals or grommets to put into the tailgate bracket. I found overpriced Omix grommets on Quadratec, but couldn’t find replacement terminals. I found a thread on the TJ forum where a guy made his own out of furniture bolts and a redneck...

    '95 Sahara, 1st YJ

I wanted to install a CHMSL since mine came without one to improve visibility for the fine folks driving behind me and maybe reduce the odds of being rear-ended. I ordered the parts from Deadjeep and probably overpaid. First they lost my order so it was about 6 weeks later that I received it...

    1995 Sahara project

Welcome to the forum and the Sahara club! I got my ‘95 Sahara a year and a half ago, same color, Lt Pearlstone. You could buy the stripes/decals from Phoenix graphics if you’re interested. https://www.phoenixgraphix.com/amc/9495wse.php You’ve already done a lot of major work; I wish I had...

    Front bumper cover "support"

Yeah the brake line is just hanging out there with clips attached to nothing. Is it important? Maybe I could fabricate some kind of replacement. Is it metal or plastic?

    Front bumper cover "support"

My Jeep came without anything covering the front crossmember, so I thought I get the 'Jeep' logo cover. In the factory parts catalog, there appears to be a 'support' underneath the plastic cover. does anyone know if this is important or what it does?

Mine is Spice. The pristine leather on the spokes makes the rest look bad.

The quote is $399. Pretty steep, but eventually I’ll probably have to do it. And if it lasts 15 years it’s worth it

There are a ton of steering wheel photos on their site so it appears they have experience. Judging from the pictures, the work looks very good; maybe not OEM factory-good, but close.
