    YJ Manual Transmission Question

The viscosity really isn’t critical. Either of those will be perfectly fine. I used to like redline but after trying Driven in several transmissions I like it more. Conventional fluids seem to work a bit better in gearboxes than synthetic.

    YJ Manual Transmission Question

I got it from Redline Goods. https://www.redlinegoods.com/Wrangler8795shiftboot.php?srsltid=AfmBOoorQ1pOVWiVKipFTpRCktsIfQT-FdwaBaNRNNXyOUCoSHGggsvX

1993 YJ transfer case rear driveshaft seal

Just for extra info - got the National seal in. Looks very similar to stock.

1993 YJ transfer case rear driveshaft seal

The bushing is a bit of a pain to change, I think typically the layman’s tool to get it done is a 30 mm socket, but it’s not perfect. You have to be paying attention so you don’t booger up the new one or the housing. I way overpaid to get the 2 factory drivers and driver handle from eBay...

1993 YJ transfer case rear driveshaft seal

All of the OEM style I can recall seeing were neither of what was posted, they were instead like this: The flat style like the second pic isn’t OEM and it doesn’t provide any protection against dust sealing, but it does work. I picked up a duralast 4370n (like the one I posted) in a pinch...

    YJ Manual Transmission Question

My original AX15 was not great at shifting. Probably because of the GL5 fluid that the factory supposedly incorrectly filled them all with which is not friendly to the yellow metals found inside. I got a brand new AX15 in 2016 and it was much better, to the point where it feels normal and not...

1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

Good news. The t-case seems to have solved my issue. It was an expensive project, but I no longer have any noise. I used the following: 1995 2.5L AX5 T-case Mopar 23-spline long input gear - 04796965 (purchased new) True neutral shift plate (Omix, purchased years ago) JB conversions rebuild...

1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

In the quest to solve never ending exhaust issues, I wanted to eliminate more variables from the equation. I wasn’t a huge fan of the Banks header - not to say I wouldn’t recommend it, it was overall a fine product, but it wasn’t quite my cup of tea. My biggest complaint was the donut gasket...

    1995 Brake Swith Issue

Wish I could offer more suggestions, but since it's just that resistance fit with the clip corrugations into the brake pedal bracket hole, I can't really think of what else the solution would be. If it comes down to the hole somehow being worn out, I would think the easiest solution would be a...

Haven’t had that issue. Is the hole in the mount somehow wallowed out?

1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

Thanks, I'm happy with how it has turned out. Just continuing on to tidy up the final loose ends. It feels endless, but slowly I am getting there. At least it's drivable now.

    Fuel pressure issue

Junk. It appalls me that companies still keep selling crap like this. It would cost them $1 to use a better hose.

1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

Good news, I received a full refund on the Borla exhaust, so now it's as if I never spent any money on it. That makes paying for the Banks a lot less painful. Now to figure out what I need to do to make the Banks hanger not rub. Probably slide the cat just a tiny bit further forward, once I...

Rewiring Engine Harness - Connector Identification Help Needed

So I looked at mine for a bit and comparing with the diagram made me realize the diagram is for the hood side connector, which then you have to mirror to figure out the correct spot on the bulkhead fuse box connection. It appears you do have D5 populated if my eyes aren’t playing tricks on me...

Rewiring Engine Harness - Connector Identification Help Needed

Based on that diagram, it does seem like you should definitely have a pin at the D5 spot on the fuse block. Based on the bubba hackery you've seen before, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they removed it at some point. I'll pop my bulkhead off when I'm home and take a look at mine. I also have...

Best Wheel/Tire Combo for 2.5’’ Lift On YJ - Need To Stay Tucked In

Thanks. Trying to restore it to its mostly original stock beauty, so it now has the styled steel wheels and 215/75 tires (BFG KO3). Although I did like the TJ Grizzly wheels too. I still have them and will hang onto them just in case. They were NOS from Mopar. Washers were just for 3/8” bolts...

Best Wheel/Tire Combo for 2.5’’ Lift On YJ - Need To Stay Tucked In

To stay tucked, your only real option is factory wheels, or aftermarket fender flares that provide more coverage for wider/further sticking out wheel/tire combos. Since you're trying to stay narrow for garage reasons and not legal reasons, that pretty much leaves the stock wheels as your only...

    Bolt missing from track bar

L Pricey for what it is, but I bought this kit because it took out the guesswork and I like the large washer head fasteners that retain torque really well so they don’t loosen up. https://ebay.us/m/r12TcT

1994 Hunter Green SE “Back to Stock” Thread

The t-case troubles continue, and I’m not really sure why or what the actual problem is at the moment. As a reminder, the issue previously was I had a squealing bearing sound anytime the vehicle was rolling, especially at road speed. It seemed I was not getting adequate fluid to the tail...
