Carbureted YJ sputters only when heat or radio are on

I finally got around to testing the alternator and battery voltage with a multimeter. Not sure if I did it right (watched Chris Fix on You tube). Without engine on battery read 12.85. Fired up the engine and jumps to 14.5. Turned it off and it drops to 13.30 and continues dropping so must be...

Carbureted YJ sputters only when heat or radio are on

Not yet. I’ll have to do that this weekend and see but I agree. It’s just so weird and oddly specific.

Carbureted YJ sputters only when heat or radio are on

Totally not handy or mechanically adept. Pretty much zero mechanical experience except I have tinkered with an old Johnson 2hp outboard (meaning I watched YouTube and rebuilt a carb and replaced head gasket by watching someone else). Hoping to learn how to work on the yj but I’ll likely need...

    Horn question

Thanks. Yeah I gotta figure out what parts I need. Seems like a simple fix. I just got it so I don’t have an owners manual or the service manual yet.

    Horn question

So I’m the proud new owner of a sweet 1990 YJ 4.2 V6. Just got it this week and I have to pass inspection in NYS. Horn wasn’t working. Looked under hood and saw it was unplugged. Plugged in and horn went off constant. So I pulled horn off and there’s no spring. That seems like an easy purchase...
