What is this on my leaf spring? Are front and rear the same?

That is shim to adjust the pinion angle. This is the easier way to do it as opposed to changing the spring perches themselves. I deleted the other topic you started since it was similar. The difference between front and rear leafs on a yj is the number of leaves. It depends on accessories...

    Horn flex plate

I noticed the thin steel plate under the horn button is not flat. Is it supposed to be slightly concave? If so which end goes towards the steering wheel? Pic for reference but it's hard to pick up in a photo

    AX-15 compatibility questions

I dont see why the 97 up tj version wouldn't work for you. These get swapped from yj to tj and vice versa all the time. Which vendor is breaking it down by year? Have you looked at novak?

    Questions for the AX5 gurus

I have installed a few used ax5s and have never bothered opening them up or worried about 5th gear issues. I would clean and install with a new clutch kit and not worry about it.

Front upper seat belt spacer ?

Thank you very much for the picture. To me it looks like no plastic spacer/bushing. It must be an early yj thing maybe exclusive to the sport bar. Thanks again

Front upper seat belt spacer ?

I know on the 1987-1990 models the front upper seat belt used a plastic bushing of sorts. This was used behind the bolt head. I don't recall these being used on 1992 and up can anyone confirm? This is the connection to the roll bar. Thanks in advance

    New to Jeeps

Welxome to the forum!!! I always recommend just enjoying the jeep starting out. Too many people want to start upgrading before they really get the chance to see what the jeep can do in current form.

    Cup holder and dash bar

I like those but not enough to spend the $50 or whatever they cost. Do you feel they are a good value?

    1990 YJ Gauge Cluster

Sure seems like a printed circuit issue. I noticed the other day on Amazon that there are new printed circuit for the early gauges for around $20..no idea of quality but it might be worth a shot

    SOA steering

This has been beat to death in the past on other forums but I searched and didn't see much here. This is not a SOA or SUA debate. What are you successfully using for SOA steering? I see Teraflex and Parts Mike both have dana 30 kits avaialble for around $1000 bucks or so. What other ideas are...

    Hard shifting

I would start with the basics. Fluid full? Proper type? You could have a ba10/5 or an ax15. Look at the transmission and see if it looks like it bolts together in halves.

Anyone Downsize Tires For Better Performance?

I actually did this once but to a tj. Put it back to stock with the small wheels and tires. It made a big difference in power (2.5) but at the end if the day I couldn't stand the way it looked and I ended up lifting it again.

    93 YJ Engine Swap

My advice is to always enjoy the jeep as is. I lost count of the number of jeeps I have bought because someone with good intentions buys a running and driving jeep and then tears it down to nuts and bolts. Then the wife gets pregnant or an unexpected bill comes up. Guess what goes first? And the...
