Does anybody have a suggestion for gear ratio to run 35s and 37s?

It's a jeep, gear it like a jeep. Throw the lowest gears you can in there and have a jeep that does "Jeep things". Personally, I give zero ducks about top speed in my Jeep. I've never spent so much money to make a rig go slower 🤣 Gear that sumbich like a tractor.

    Soft top storage

I don't think the wife is down with "Jeep art". She did say I could build a showcase and park the Shovelhead in the living room when I'm too old to ride it anymore.

    Soft top storage

It's about time to switch to hard top mode. looking for cheap easy soft top storage solutions. I might be able to lay the windows flat on a piece of ply wood up in the garage rafters with ...something? between them to keep them from scratching and sticking. fold up the top? roll it up? lay...

Folks, run your freakin' engine from time to time

Random note: A few years back ...I guess it was quite a few years now (funny how that happens) Melling shipped a batch of oil pumps that had metal shavings inside them. Apparently they didn't get cleaned out properly from the factory. SOURCE: My friend Dennis, the engine builder. Because...

    Hard ride

Ditto on ditching the track bars. Also, loosening the shackles and greasing all the bushings then re-torquing all the bolts to about 35 ft-lb can help with ride quality. ***do your own research on safe torque specs**** Mine are set to [half a squeak past snug]🤷

Headlights malfunction but high beam works

My buddy's ford ranger had both low beams burn out at the same time. Uncommon but not unheard-of.

Grade of mounting bolts steering house and trackbar rear and front

I would use grade 8 for the steering box and relocate the track bars to the dumpster.

Will TJ sliders fit my hard top properly?

My buddy got a wrecked TJ from the auction and it has uppers with sliding windows. I know the rear pin would need modified to fit in the doors but I'm not sure how it would fit in the opening. I think I can get them for a good price. Has anyone done this? Or seen it done? I was thinking about...

‘95 Jeep YJ 90-degree fuel line fitting @fuel pump

I used a straight piece of Baracade fuel line. I inserted a spring inside it, so it couldn't collapse. It's been in there for 8,500 miles, so far so good.

    Speedway beadlock rings?

The new beadlocks wrapped in some 33 12.5 tires. I had to trim the rear fender wells about ¾" and trim the TJ flares a little. The rear doesn't rub at all and it takes a lot to make the fronts rub. I did extensive testing this weekend 😉

    Best floor pan patch panels?

Well I got the new floor pan in and dark gray Raptor liner sprayed on the floor boards. I also had the driver's seat bracket lowered 1.75". It all looks great now and the lower seat is SO much more comfortable 👍 Unfortunately I can't seem to post pictures... So, I guess you're just going to...

    Speedway beadlock rings?

Update: After much deliberation, I bought weld on beadlock rings from Total Metal Innovations. They are standard 3/16" off-road beadlock rings with anti coning tabs. Beadlocks are cool like jockey shift Harleys 😎

    Boomerang shackles

Generally speaking, yes. But I believe I read that OME boomerang shackles are about 5" in length. I imagine they would drive fine. Don't you think? I'm too cheap to find out. I'm running 5.25" Ebay specials. They're ok.

That's correct. The angle is pretty much dead nuts for my setup. Results may vary.

So, you're saying it's the radio, not the ignition or aux circuit? I can live with that.

Stereo stays on after key is off

No exageration, I've owned 100 aftermarket stereos in a hundred different rigs, this is the only one that has done this. What's different?

    T-case drop still needed?

I had that setup for a while. 2½" lift, with the 1" mm lift, and 4° rear shims, it required a ¾" T-case drop to get the drive line angles right. I don't know what shims you have, so results may vary.
