    Oil and temperature gauge readings

You'll need to put your multimeter on it's resistance setting and get some ohm readings. You can do this with the Jeep off. I can't find the values for the Oil Pressure sensor in the factory service manual but someone posted their test results using an original sensor and a NAPA replacement...

What did you do in the garage / driveway today?

Not in the garage but using what I built in the garage in the field.

    Starter Issues

Battery and ground cables can look fine externally but be a tube of corrosion inside the insulation. The exposed wires wick water/moisture/crud into the insulation and overtime it just becomes a tube of powder. With enough conductivity to run most of the Jeep but when tasked with carrying the...

    It's transition time again

I did this in the CJ5 with my old motorcycle heated gear. Was much easier to keep the wind out riding the Jeep lol.

1991 2.5 doesn't like to start when engine is hot

Yeah, just buy a fuel pressure gauge anyway. It's a good number to keep track of when doing other maintenance. Can give you a heads-up on a weak pump or a failing check valve or FPR. Starting spray is...meh. I can use starting spray to make an engine with no carb at all on the intake...

1991 2.5 doesn't like to start when engine is hot

Brandon hasn't been on the forums since May of 2022. I don't think he's going to show up to answer your question but he might. Maybe. Get a fuel pressure gauge and get readings. And good 'nuff gauge is 20sih dollars on Amazon. Even cold. I had fuel pressure issues, it was way low due to a...

Without more info such as engine, and what troubleshooting you've already done, it's kinda hard to help you.

    Should I buy this YJ?

I stay away from anything with diamond plate bolted to it. Unless I can get a good deal for it. Diamond Plate=Almost Guaranteed Rust issues. People bolt that layered shit on, then moisture and junk get caught between it and the original body and rust it out like crazy. Or people bolt it on...

    Yj lightbar

Any lights that blast down or across the hood are going to be counterproductive. The amount of light reflected off the hood will screw your night adapted vision all to hell and back. They need to be forward of the hood, or far enough back from the windshield if they're top mounted that the roof...

What did you do in the garage / driveway today?

Day before yesterday I swapped the rear springs on the YJ. Nearly 30 years of wear and unknown number of miles with an automatic locker in theback had taken it's toll. They had a slight "S" shape towards the frame end mount and when loaded with camping gear had a negative arch. These should...

    Dimmer Switch Actuator?

Yeah, the pull to dim/bright mechanism is quite the Rube Goldberg contraption. The floor dimmer was so much simpler in the CJs. I've kicked around the idea of going to that setup as well in my YJ. To me, it's also much more convenient to activate.

How to retain 4WD light with passenger solid axle shaft upgrade

Delete the body lift. The tension in the rubber caused by the body lift is keeping it from shifting and staying in gear properly.

    Help with 4WD indicator light

Aftermarket switches and sensors have always been junk, nowadays, they're even worse than before with the parts shortages. It's highly possible you got a bad one. That dropping part you're talking about is called the "air vent filter", it's connected to one leg of your transfer case vacuum...

Correct. It was a stretch, but it did go over both the trans shifter cane and t-case shifter cane without tearing or deforming. That larger portion of the cane is smoother than the square part of the shift assembly so I figured that's why it went over alright, that and generous lubrication...
