    Black Smoke!

Your fuel injected correct? There is no 'adjustment" to cure rich running. If your carbed check the choke plate is open all the way when warm. The float could be saturated and low flooding it or it could be hung up. After sitting 3 months make sure rodents havent built a condo in your air intake...

    Need help pricing my YJ

We just bought s vehicle off FB market place. IMO, FB is as worthless as FBM place. Scammers, people who never respond to you request for contact info. here in NM I say 70% of them are "salvaged" POS'es from chop shops. Craigs list is still better IMO even if it costs $5 for an ad. Theres also...

    Mechanical Questions

Im no electronics expert but I think much of that is semantics. Same part, different name. Most guys say www.wranglerfix.com is the way to go for ecm fixes. Perhaps macho will kick in with some knowledge. He puts these together in his sleep ;)

    Mechanical Questions

No, its not normal. Th ECM regulates the alternators charging output. It has nothing to do with the alternators charging abilities. Not having a clue what the "new wiring" entails, the wiring could be wrong, or your ecm has problems. You should see 13.8 to 14.3V with it running.

1989 Jeep Wrangler clutch bleeding valve won’t turn

I see marks on both the line end and large nut holding the bleeder nipple. Have you tried to open the actual bleed nipple? Brake line wrenches work wonders.

Mechanic replaced slave, master and clutch. No more slip, but no more shift?

The clutch pedal should obvious is its disengaging the PP or just compressing air in the line or slave. If he has to kill it to get it into R that says a bunch IMO about the clutch not disengaging.

    YJ wiring nightmare

Sounds to me bad ground(s). Hot wires, dimming lights and notoriously bad grounds on jeeps. Dirty headlight plugs, grounds there. The dash cluster is also grounded. You can also add grounds anywhere, never hurts. Just make sure you go to clean metal where they are landed.

Is this rust a purchase deal breaker?

If you just have to have PLEASE look inside the frame holes in back and front. As the guys said they can rust from inside out bad. Id pop that air filter off if you could and see how much dirt is inside that intake tube due to what I believe is a Spectre gauze filter. Otherwise It looks pretty...

    Clutch problems

Hope you didnt wrestle to hard on the shifter s you could bend a shift fork. Doesn't sound right that even stopped not running it would not come out of 5th. Running I can understand if the TB was not working or the PP springs/fingers/parts were broke. With the trans out you should be able to...

    Clutch problems

You didnt say what year your jeep is, however what you have is the early style internal slave cylinder. No fork, just that hydraulic throw out bearing which is the part with the 2 lines and the bellow around it. Buy a Luc kit off Rockauto and be done with it. Typically new slaves come with new...

    “Click” then loss of power

Id start with bad battery connections or cables. Cables can look OK but internally their shot and full of corrosion.

Is this rust a purchase deal breaker?

I wouldent pay but $4500 for it. 4 banger,no top, theres and other $600 or so. Looks like a Spectre rock filter for an air filter. Id lay odds the dealer gave about $2500 in trade in on it.

    Hazards won’t go off

I was thinking of putting 33s with a 2.5 lift do I need to re-gear?

What's gear ratio does your YJ have now?

    Gearbox oil

Dang man, thats crazy overkill IMO. MFG'ers put that kind of maint schedule in the manual hoping your a dummy and take it to the dealer for a $300 a year major lube service. You doing a lot of water crossings and getting intrusion?

    Gearbox oil

How often you changing lubes? If your worried about wasting money on a vehicle Id say off the jeep and buy a toyota. ;)
  19. Gilaguy23

    Gearbox oil

Summit racing and Jegs both sell 2 or 3 brands of GL4 manual trans specific gear oils and last time I bought quarts they were $10.99 each IIRC.

    Gearbox oil

Id say no being RP says its a replacement for a trans that use ATF. If your gonna use 80/90 lube make sure its GL4 rated not the MT1 lubes the likes of autozone sells. I ran both 80/90 in my 91's ax5 and 10/30 synthetic and Id use nothing else but the 10/30 which jeep now recommends. If you live...
