Can anyone identify these wires?

Hi All - total Jeep noob here trying to help my son who bought a semi-basket case 1989 2.5 manual Wrangler.

We're trying to tidy up some of the wiring and noticed 2 wires that are pressed into the (manual) transmission case. The wires aren't connected to anything but their ends are exposed. Both wires are white with a black stripe (or they appear to be - who knows if they are discolored?) and we seem to get 12v across them when the ignition is turned on. This was cause for concern for me as they were bare and exposed so we temporarily insulated them to avoid any further issues.

Can anyone tell me what they are for please?

(second pic is the connecter they lead to)

Thanks for your help

Not sure on the AX5 but on the AX 15 the only wires coming from trans are for reverse switch. If I remember correctly they turn on the dash reverse light and backup lights. Yours should have the ax5 trans so may be different

Thanks - the reverse lights are working correctly so its not that. I don't even know if they connect to the trans - they are routed along it so its anybodys guess

As far as the original post I was going to say O2 sensor, but I know that probably is not it. My next guess would be a hardtop wiring harness.

Could I please get insight from others on these 3 images? The first one I think I have figured out using the forum resources. It is coming off near the map sensor and I think it is a connector to a hood light. But the other two I just can't get. The one with 6 dots is near the master break cylinder and the washer fluid reservoir. The other is next to the air filter and is coming off of the line from the headlight/horn area. My jeep is a 95 yj 2.5 liter automatic transmission.

First one is hood light, second one is an air conditioning connector that is only applicable on 2.5L, third one is the original horn plug. You do not have the factory horn installed in that photo.
