Well as I posted a few weeks back, The '94 4.0 I rebuilt and swapped out about 8,000 miles ago started bleeding to death out of what appeared to be the rear seal. It had all the hallmarks, Volume, Position and drip pattern when stopped. So I went ahead and swapped
out seal and installed a new pan and gasket...And I cranked her up, Oil pressure went up and I stepped out to look underneath and sure enough...Bleeding profusely...I go under and look, And it's NOT the rear seal but the oil pressure sending unit off the oil filter housing...
Be damned!!! But, I'm not pissed...Looking at the Silver Lining of it all...The stiction remover I used in the last two oil changes really did it's
job. When I removed the old pan that I cleaned when I rebuilt, Had about an 1/4" of sludge in bottom that I'm guessing was coating in the oil jacket and passages I couldn't see/get to. The new pan doesn't have the big dent in it that gives me maybe a 1/2 quart more oil, And the new pan's black glossy finish with the Fel-Pro Azure Blue peeking out along the edge would make even Picasso blush it's so pretty...
So at the risk of jinxing myself...I think I have all the bug-aboo's worked out and good Lord willin'...I'll be Jeepin' for awhile.......

Side note...The nylon "Snap Up" screw in pegs that Fel-Pro included with the pan gasket made positioning both the gasket AND pan a snap, By myself and from underneath with both junked out shoulders giving me hell, Had both of them positioned and bolts started inside of five minutes! Whom ever thought this up is a F'n genius!!

Link to the Stiction cleaner....And other really cool additives.....Use them on my 5.9 Cummins too.....Don't sweat the "Diesel" in the title...
They have a Gas section also......

On a Chevy 350 years ago I was able to see a similar cleanup on the inside just by switching to Mobile 1.
