    Back in the saddle again

Well.... I'm finished with "phase 1" the lift and 35's. Had to strip the rear flares off to fit them.... but that's gonna bring me to "phase 2" I'll be installing new fenders and bumpers when they arrive.... should be in the next week or 2. As far as the OME kit.... it is GREAT! rides smooth...

    Back in the saddle again

Well.... Toys finally arrived! I've hit everything with PB Blaster once.... gonna do it again then start wrenching, praying for no broken bolts! OME with greaseable shackles. Got the tires and wheels ordered. Should have those in a week I'm going 33" Milestar Patagonia MT 2.0. Gonna drive it on...

    Dana 35 question

Ya, I get it won't be a track car.... But I want this to be a jeep I can drive through town or to the trail. I wanted to make sure it would be road worthy with gearing that low I was afraid it might not be drivable on the freeway. I appreciate you sharing your experience and it sounds like 4.88...

    Dana 35 question

Thanks for the info! I'll start looking into the gearing and at least a rear locker.... Right now I'm leaning OX but again... I'm open to any suggestions. 😁

    Dana 35 question

Damn.... That low eh? Well I've got a manual.... That's gonna be a big difference! I want to weekend drive this thing... 4.88 wouldn't make it too low for freeway driving?

    Dana 35 question

Well look at that.... It looks like the bottom bit of a 3 under that mount corner! THANKS a ton! 3.07 seems really high.... And I just bought 33" tires to put on once I get my lift kit and get it installed.... Now to figure out what my new ratio should be..... By what I've been able to figure...

    Dana 35 question

Okay.... I'm trying to discover exactly what my gear ratio is. I've got a stock 95 Sahara edition. I checked the tag on the flange of the rear diff and it's got a sequence of numbers that don't seem to mean anything (to me anyway): 2068850 07 5662-1 Can anyone make any sense of that mess? Thanks!

    Where to source parts?

I'm starting to think it isn't as bad as I thought.... it ticks pretty good right at cold start up but goes away entirely after a couple of minutes of warm-up. I had a 4.0 back from 95-03, but don't remember any ticking then.... this is a 95 4.0 and maybe I'm just more sensitive to it now. From...

    Where to source parts?

Any recommendations or warnings between Enginetech vs Melling? This'll be my first go at working on this rig and haven't formed any opinions as of yet. I'd planned on going with Fel-Pro Permadry as the gasket. Also, is there anything else I should be checking/replacing while I'm inside the...

    Where to source parts?

Hey all.... I've got some lifter noise (I think). The noise is only there on startup and goes away within a minute or two. I want to replace the rocker arms, pivots and pushrods. Any suggestions as to where to source those parts (or where NOT to source them)? It's a stock 4.0 with 200k miles on...

    Back in the saddle again

sure thing..... i'll be updating this thread as I finish the work.... Unfortunately we've got some travel coming up so realistically I'm looking at getting the lift done sometime late July at this point (ARB is back-ordered on their greaseable shackles and predicting 4-6 weeks to get them)...
