Random knocking noise and strong vibrations

Thanks for the reply. I eventually found out that it was the exhaust hanger right under the skid plate. To replace it I would have to drop the skid plate, and I did not care enough to do it since it was not a big deal, just an annoying rattling noise ever now and then

Random knocking noise and strong vibrations

I was gonna sell either way, I need a truck more than the Jeep, I just didn't know if anyone had any ideas of what the noise could be so that I could fix it

Random knocking noise and strong vibrations

Hi everyone, I can post the video of my 93 YJ 2.5 5 speed. When given throttle, it will randomly make a knocking noise somewhere underneath the Jeep. It does not really sound like an engine knock. I think it has something to do with the exhaust. It looks like the exhaust hanger by the skid plate...

Prevent sand from getting in intake while at the dunes

Perfect, thanks for the advice. I guess I will just buy a new air filter, and I will definitely replace all of the cracked vacuum lines that I have.

Prevent sand from getting in intake while at the dunes

Hi everyone, does anyone have any tips to keep Jeeps save while off-roading in sand? I am worried that sand will get sucked into the intake. I currently have a 2.5 engine with a bone stock intake (paper filter). Is this good enough for light to moderate off-roading in the dunes? Is there...

Upgrading the throttle body on 1997 2.5 YJ

The only real way to get any extra power out of a 2.5 is by swapping the engine. An unrealistic mod would be supercharging or turbocharging them, which has been done, but is not worth it for the effort in my opinion. Headers and multi-port fuel injectors give a few more horsepower, which doesn't...

Hard top uppers for half door don't fit

That worked good, it was not moving very well. My upper doors line up perfectly now, thank you for the help!

Hard top uppers for half door don't fit

Sorry it's been so long since I have commented, I have been busy and have finally gotten to adjusting the windshield. I am having issues. It is under so much tension with everything removed. I have pushed back the hard top, removed the two upper bolts where the spreader bar is, the 3 on the...

Hard top uppers for half door don't fit

I have seen some other forums where people talk about doing that. How do I adjust the windshield angle? Some people say there are some bolts on the roll cage and that I need to remove some bolts for the hinge on the windshield. What steps did you take?

Hard top uppers for half door don't fit

Hi everyone, I just bought some hard uppers with the sliding window on marketplace for my Jeep. In the pictures, the uppers seemed to fit fine, but when I install it on my Jeep, it doesn't fit at all. I can't get all 3 bolts to fit in the slots, and a part of it hangs off of the door. Does...

    Bestop Hacks

The only honest fix to the gap above the door at higher speeds would be to just buy hard doors. This will seal better, and it will lessen the amount of cold air leaking into the cabin. You can run full doors with a soft top, but a full hard top/hard door combo might run you $1 - 2k on Facebook...

    Engine and transmission opinions

I am planning on swapping a 350 SBC and adapting it to the AX-15. Just like Gilaguy23 said, the AX-15 is a very strong transmission. Novak Conversions makes really good adapter plates, so that, in my opinion, is the best option. You would also have to factor in custom front and rear driveshafts...

    5.3 swap fuse box

I am pretty certain that they do not make one. You need a standalone ecu and the wiring harness and fuse box from the truck that 5.3 came out of.

Need advice for valve cover gasket replacement

Hi everyone, So I have a 1993 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.5. I have been replacing the valve cover gasket, and the mating surface on the head is black, and I have used a razor blade, steel wool, a brush, brake cleaner, and rags to try to get it clean, but it is still black. The valve cover itself...

Pulled PCV valve off and saw major sludge buildup in valve cover, is this normal?

I think it has been 5 years or so. It would probably be good to do that. Thanks for the advice.
