Hello everyone. I finally got the garage cleaned and can put the jeep in there! I noticed that the garage smells much more like gasoline than when it’s just my wife’s car. Took the jeep out for a few days.. smell gone. Jeep back in.. smell is back.

Last year put in a new fuel pump, filter, and fill hoses. Checked all the lines and no visible leaks. No drips or fuel on frame, lines, rear leaf.. nothing.
It seems to be coming from the rear.

I thought maybe I need to replace the filler neck and cap?

What could cause this smell without seeing fuel?

Best guess is double check the top of the tank for wetness and the cap since you'll get no in your face CEL to tell you the evap is not right. Also check the lines off the filler tube. One may be split and you just dont see it.

When I dropped my fuel tank to fix the sending unit I had the small vent lines pop off and leak fuel on top of the tank. When raising the tank into place, make sure there's plenty of slack or else they may get pulled tight and pop off the tank fitting as mine did.

I replaced my fuel pump recently and it didn't seal properly. I didn't see any leakage looking at it except right after I typed it off.
