So I inherited a 95 wrangler Sahara. Was told it runs great but……. Needs a tranny, transfer case and rear driveline. Jeep has 125k miles and is very clean. It’s all stock as far as I can tell. My goal is to not go crazy just make a bad ass hunting, mountain rig. So needing a tranny anyone have Any good leads where to get one. I’ve looked everywhere close to me with no luck. I’m guessing I need a 32rh and np231. It had an auto and is the 4.0l. Or is there a better option since I have to buy all new anyway

Looks like a nice jeep to me. Can you elaborate on why you or someone else thinks it needs a new transmission, transfer case, and driveline?

Sure can. It’s missing haha. No one knows where it’s at
Lol wow, not the answer I was expecting. I figured I’d end up telling you to make sure to add fluid. A 32RH may be hard to come by. It is a good transmission if you can find one and want to stay automatic. A manual swap is relatively easy and straightforward but needs a lot of parts. The upside to the manuals is that transmission is still manufactured brand new so you could easily obtain one.

@SirDoopYJ is doing a manual swap on his right now.

The transfer case you can probably find on eBay or Facebook locally. You’ll want to choose a transfer case based on being 4.0 and auto or manual depending on the transmission you go with. You can get one from a 4 cyl but you’ll have to take it all apart to swap the input gear. You can use an auto or manual tcase on a manual transmission, you need an automatic tcase to use on an automatic transmission. You can always disassemble it all to change the input gear but if you can find the proper one for your application, that’s easier and better. Though, they’re all 27+ years old now, so maybe tearing into one and doing a refresh isn’t a bad idea regardless.

That looks to be a pretty original Sahara on the outside? If it is clean and the Sahara interior is in good shape too, you might want to freshen it up, put the drivetrain in it, and keep it that way or list it on bring a trailer and pick up something else to beat in the woods if that is the plan. Do some research on these - they are starting to fetch big bucks in original clean condition.
