Yj upgrade to vortec

What's up guys?
I have a yj with a wimpy 2.5 and ax5. Motor is blown bought it specifically for a v8 swap. Question is could the stock axles handle the vortec?
If not could I use the axles out of an 02 tahoe which is the donor
Any responses are appreciated thank you!
 
I think it really depends on how you use it. I have a 95 YJ that I drove for years with the 2.5 and AX5. A couple of years ago, I put in an LS5.3 and AX15 and no changes to axles. It's been awesome and moves down the road! I've had no problems at all, but I'm also not terrible aggressive on it and I'm not jumping sand dunes or anything. Some trail riding and on the road mainly. I have no regrets!

Like mentioned, it really depends on the way you drive it and where you intend on taking it. I would highly advise against the stock axles. From an engineering aspect, they are not designed to handle or withstand the power and tq from the V8 power plant, so an upgrade would be a no brainer IMO.
