I want to run 35's on my 95 yj 2.5L so I was wondering if I can re-gear my transfer case instead of regearing my Dana 30 and 35 seeing how they are just going to get swapped out in the next year or so? I don't really care much about the high end. I never leave the valley I live in.

Re gearing will get the power you lost when you went up in tire size. Even for around town, it can make a difference. But alas, ignorance is bliss.
There were re-gear kits for the old Quadra-trac, but that was to give it a permanent over-drive.
I think that was actually an option for a kit that eliminated the center diff.
You can still find used teraflex 4:1 NP231 conversion kits if you look hard enough.
I haven’t figured out what actually goes wrong but seems like lots of those started falling apart and needing work/replacement after they got to be higher in mileage. Not an issue back when it was still in production but now; with no parts left it would really suck if you began to run one now and started having issues. Wish I knew what the actual issues were. Not sure if the planetary they used was weaker or what.
