I’ve got a small interior mod I’m considering and wanted to get some input before I start messing with it.
Problem:
Rear visibility in the YJ is pretty limited. The factory mirror has a narrow field of view, and with the already small, upright windshield, it cuts into forward visibility more than it helps.
Idea:
Swap the factory mirror for something with a broader rear field of view to improve visibility and clean up the sightline through the windshield. I’d want it mounted between the visors on the windshield frame.
What I want to avoid:
I’d prefer not to drill into the windshield frame unless there’s no other clean option.

Questions:
- Has anyone here run a wider rearview mirror on a YJ?
- Any mounting approaches that hold solid without drilling?
- Any issues with vibration or stability once you go to a larger mirror?
- Did it actually improve rear visibility in a meaningful way?
