What’s next?

I took out that cheap looking center console and removed the two front non-adjustable seats and replaced them with 2 Bestop (all vinyl) Trailmaster II adjustable seats. I’ve ordered a 6 1/2” wide security console from Quadratec (on back order).

So what’s next you may ask? I’m pricing out a Sony Marine radio install from my local stereo shop. In addition, I’m looking for plastic fender well close outs and inner fenders both front and rear. Does anyone know who sells these products?

Here’s a nice head unit that wont break the bank and looks more era fitting in the YJ. And its Marine grade.

I have one in my TJ and pics of it installer are in my vehicle thread on the TJ forum. I have no complaints.

Everyone with 90’s and 2000’s vehicles are buying them up.

I vote Clarion! I admire the retro look. I may look more into that one as well for mine when the time comes down to it.

If there is a way to still get an original YJ radio and fit an AUX port for my phone to play music I would do that, but I do not believe it is possible.

I spent $3000 on a stereo for my TJ that is probably the best sounding car audio system I've ever heard in my life. I'm also a huge audiophile (no, I don't listen to rap or hip hop), so to me this was worth it.

That is a cool classic radio. The radio I had in my 88 XJ had an AM Stereo receiver. Not sure if that's even an option anymore.

I believe my best bet is to go with a high powered marine radio vs. an original YJ model. Yes, I wish it was more like the original in style and looks but the extra power when running naked should more than make up for it.

I ended up going with a digital media receiver since I mostly listen to Apple music. It's marine grade and a pretty good radio.
