Stock airbox restrictor removal?

Hey all.
I saw a thread on another forum talking about removing two restrictions from the stock airbox for the 2.5l. It didn’t have details.

Is anyone on here aware if what is being discussed and what to do to remove them?
Does it require cutting or more?

I’m running a K&N filter on the stock airbox.

Neither of my 2.5's had any kind of restrictor in the air intake. Secondly Id shitcan that K&N for a paper filter if you do ANY off road driving. Lastly, there is literally nothing you can do to make a 2.5 more powerful except swap it for another engine.
