I just completed 2.5L engine rebuild. The engine breakin went great, but I noticed a knock coming from the bell housing or the tranny when the engine is in neutral. When the clutch is depressed, the knock goes away. It's not random, but it doesn't really follow the RPMs. It's a definite knock (not a tick or rattle). The clutch, pilot bearing, slave, and throwout bearing are all new with the engine rebuild. I'm worried about the input shaft, bearing, and tranny, but I'm not sure how to diagnose these issues.
