For context: My 93 YJ came with an older, 1st gen ARB air compressor mounted in the engine bay. It’s plumbed to the front and rear ARB lockers.

I’m in the process of upgrading the battery and battery cables. There’s a positive lead from the compressor that’s run directly to the rear of the PDC, as shown in the photo. Is there any good reason for this? I’d rather run it to the battery directly if I can. Any thoughts?

Yeah, it’s a head scratcher. The wire just runs through the PDC to the back side and connects to the post that runs to the battery. I’d not seen this before, so figured I’d ask.

Some people run to the PDC to keep the clutter off the battery cables. Otherwise it doesn’t make a difference, it’s just power.
